IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) is television delivered over your internet connection instead of a satellite dish, aerial or coax cable. You watch through an app on a device you already own, such as a smart TV, media box, phone or computer.

As a guideline: roughly 10–15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps or more for 4K. A wired connection gives the most stable result.

Live TV follows a channel's broadcast schedule: you watch as it airs. VOD (Video on Demand) is a library of films and series you start, pause and resume whenever it suits you.

IPTV as a technology is legal; major Dutch TV providers deliver television via IPTV too. Whether watching is permitted depends on the content and the rights: only parties with permission from the rights holders may distribute channels, films and series.
